Children’s Residential Support Worker
Salary £21,000- £23,000
We are looking for experienced and non-experienced Residential Support Workers for our outstanding clients’ homes in Nottinghamshire. My client is a one of the largest independent providers in the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated, passionate company who have a wide variety of children’s homes nationally.
The role works on a three/four-week rolling rota, full time, and part time positions available.
The work involves the day-to-day care of children 5 to 18-year-olds, and focus is centred on the child’s needs.
The role will include:
Your most significant contribution is that of a professional parent, nurturing and caring for the young people looked after
To provide support for all children in all aspects of care, education health and well being
To enable children to make progress against agreed targets
Residential Childcare Workers encourage each young person to be involved in all aspects of their care. This will involve skill development, problem solving and assessment of risk, while being mindful of their individual capabilities.
To always safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young adults
To implement care procedures as presented in the staff handbook, statement of purpose and accordance with Minimum Standards.
To meet leisure and social needs by providing organized time for play/leisure; community access and independent time.
- Ability to work shifts
- A desire to improve the lives of young people
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a similar qualification or gain the qualification within 2 years of taking up the appointment.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Experience working in a care setting/with challenging behaviours/in a residential setting
