Children’s EBD




We are looking for experienced Residential Support Workers for our outstanding clients’ homes in Norfolk. My client is a one of the largest independent providers in the UK with over 115 homes, 23 schools, family assessment centre, therapy suite and four outdoor crisis intervention centres.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated, passionate company who have a wide variety of children’s homes nationally. This is a 6 bed home theraputic EBD home

The role will involve working a range of shifts, together with “sleep-in” shifts paid on top of hourly rate/salary.

The individual must be experienced working in a children’s residential setting and passionate about improving the lives and outcomes for children and young people; encouraging life skills and helping young people to develop their social skills through play and education, whilst having fun. They pride themselves in providing the children and young people with exciting opportunities and an outstanding environment to live in.

The role will include:

Your most significant contribution is that of a professional parent, nurturing and caring for the young people looked after

To provide support for all children in all aspects of care, education health and well being

To enable children to make progress against agreed targets

Residential Childcare Workers encourage each young person to be involved in all aspects of their care. This will involve skill development, problem solving and assessment of risk, while being mindful of their individual capabilities.

To always safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young adults

To implement care procedures as presented in the staff handbook, statement of purpose and accordance with Minimum Standards.

To meet leisure and social needs by providing organized time for play/leisure; community access and independent time.

Essential criteria:

  • Ability to work shifts
  • Driver
  • A desire to improve the lives of young people
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working in a care setting/with challenging behaviours/in a residential setting

This really is a fantastic opportunity to support children with emotional behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour in their own residential setting in the Norfolk area. Supporting them with their everyday lives and educational and social needs, enabling them to access the right care and opportunities for them to live as happy, fulfilling, and independent lives as possible.
